The Learning Council believes everyone should have access to community education, nutritional support, and advocacy services. When each person is equipped with these tools, they become lifelong learners: empowered to live healthy bountiful lives filled with curiosity and passion. TLC sees that these folks make up the fabric of our vibrant community in the North Fork Valley.

What our rural community lacks is a place for teens to be themselves, access to our services in education and nutrition, a lively downtown area after years of economic challenges, a celebration of diversity and culture, and space for varying voices to converse and reconcile.

The Learning Council’s new Educational Hub on Grand Avenue, Will provide access to services for all community members.

This amazing space will include:

  • A teen-led ice cream shop
  • TLC Kitchen creating community meals while teaching cooking classes
  • Classroom Space for courses in health, music, dance, agriculture, social and environmental justice, and more
  • Creative space for Arts for All educational programs in visual arts, music, and performing arts
  • Diversity Library to peruse a variety of books
  • Working Area for Delta County Coalition Advocating for Radically Equitable Spaces
  • Bike Co-op shop and outdoor space
  • Space for coworking with our partner organizations and colleagues
  • Educational space for the Health and Vitality Council to teach Comprehensive Sexual Health Education to parents and students
  • An outdoor classroom and meeting space
  • A venue for university level accredited classes
